From Death to Life
The miracle of something becoming alive through death is one of the most remarkable facts in the birthing, sustaining, and continuing of life as we know and understand it. Death somehow brings life, and life continues. Rebirth and continuance of life occur through death, as life is renewed and sustained in the release of elements needed for life.
Upon the cross, a payment for the sins of each of us is demanded and Christ’s death satisfies the payment as it conquers all sin for all time. This is the start of our rebirth. In the resurrection … the birth of new life takes on the life-giving sustenance which will continue unimpeded and everlasting into the eternal. We are released by Christ from sin touched from above through His death to be reborn, to live now and forever (John 3).
In baptism, we participate in the death, resurrection, and new life, Jesus secures and freely gives through His grace to us. It is in the death of Christ; life comes for all who believe and follow Him. Thus, it is in the death of Christ that we are reborn into a process where the Holy Spirit will regenerate and sustain us in a totally new life. This new life comes to those who believe in and follow Christ because of God’s mercy, love, and kindness. This is the greatest gift; the world has ever seen. It is the only gift in the world where the contents are endless in quantity and sufficiency. Christ died for our sins, to make us righteous and He rose to give us new life. If you are seeking life, open your heart to receive this gift of life from death. If you have received this new life … rejoice in the gift you have been given.
Therefore, we are buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4, KJ21).
