Knowing the Truth

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have put aside all else, counting it worth less than nothing, in order that I can have Christ, 9 and become one with him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God’s laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith—counting on Christ alone (Living Bible, Philippians 3:8-9).

In our youth, real truth seems undefined, but we know we will find it. We know, we know much and those before us are certainly lacking, because we know more. Determined, boisterous, and confident in our self-assuredness, we charge forward into the fray of living. We seem innately and naturally armed with an energetic spirit tied to our age and plunge into the vision of what we want and how we will acquire it.

When in our life experience, do we acquire the wisdom of what really matters and what really is of value? When does a faith-centered epiphany, explode our self-focus and devalue the urge to acquire and attain? What does it take to change the course of a life?

Truly connecting to Christ and all He is, brings, and gives … changes everything! True life is not a matter of religiosity, acquisition, place, position, or power but of knowing and living in connectedness to a living Savior and Shepherd. There must come a time in every life when we see the past with its failures, false hopes, and frustrations and let go of it. We must evaluate the moment as to what is of value and live for what is really of current and eternal value to our soul. Where are you in your journey of life and what really matters?
